Originally created in the 1900s to protect fishermen and farmers from the rain, the bucket hat was later used by the military in a cotton fabric. It was widely adopted by the hip-hop culture around the 1980s and became a symbol of street style.

This bucket hat is reversible.
Side 1: Blue Jeans Patchwork (Upcycled)*. One of a kind handmade patchwork from upcycled jeans.
Side 2: Italian Black Cotton Sateen. High quality woven fabric, soft and compact, with a slight sheen and a little bit of stretch on one side.

We do our best to pick shades/colors that are as close to the image as possible, however these items are unique and shades/colors are subject to the availability of upcycled material at the time of the order.

Ysaline Lannes is the owner and designer of 1ER MAI, a streetwear brand launched in 2021. Her brand creates graphic and functional clothing for women, men, and unisex, inspired by workwear and countercultures, designed and made to order in their Mile-End workshop in Montreal. 1ER MAI uses upcycling to create new clothes from used clothes chosen in local thrift stores, as well as unused fabrics from local designers and manufacturers, thus contributing to the Montreal fashion industry. Each garment is designed, cut, and handmade in their workshop according to high-quality standards, ensuring a durable garment and avoiding overproduction.
